Former Washington policeman Frank Steigmeier bought up 100 acres of riverfront in Boquete, Panama. Rio Encantado (“Enchanted River”) is his vision for an eco-resort and outdoor adventure haven—a celebration of his love for nature and art.
One side of the river is home to a maintained pool area complete with an open-air bar, cabins, picnic areas, and three rental cottages. On the other side are three natural swimming holes, well maintained jungle trails, and, in Frank’s words, “a senior citizen’s zipline.” His pièce de résistance is a treehouse, with beautiful carpentry, that rents for US$150 a night.
