The Asia Virtual Conference Experts Who Will Help You Retire In Asia

Sneak Peek: Look Who’s Joining Our Virtual Room Next Week…

Next week begins our first-ever Live and Invest in Asia Virtual Conference and our events team is working full steam ahead to prepare all the experts and expats we’ve invited to join us for this three-day event.

We’re all especially excited for this virtual event, because it’s the first time we’ve been able to host an Asia-focused conference. We’ve wanted to for years—at every year-ahead business summit we rack our brains trying to figure out how to pull it off…

Which city would be the best destination for our attendees to travel to without breaking the bank? Which country would be most convenient for all our speakers to commute to for the seminar? Would traveling so far for a conference even make sense for you, our readers interested in Asia? These are the questions we grappled with year after year…

But that was back when all we hosted were in-person events…

Now, in this brave new post-COVID world, we have found the solution: The virtual event!

Why spend thousands on plane tickets and hotel fees… and waste hours of your time in transit only to arrive foggy and jetlagged… when you can get all the same information from the comfort of your own home?

With all that in mind, we eagerly await the launch of our inaugural Live and Invest in Asia Virtual Conference on May 12, during which you’ll hear from over a dozen folks who specialize in some aspect of life in Asia… from attorneys to expats and everything in between.

Paul And Vicki Terhorst

Paul Terhorst

A couple of our long-time good friends will join us, Paul And Vicki Terhorst, perpetual travelers and expats across Asia.

SmartMoney magazine calls Paul and Vicki Terhorst the “George and Martha Washington of cashing out.” They retired to Argentina in 1984 at the very early retirement age of 35.

In 1988, Bantam Books (now Bantam Doubleday Dell) published their book, “Cashing In on the American Dream: How to Retire at 35,” now a classic.

In 1992 Paul and Vicki became perpetual travelers and have been living and staying in nearly every country in Asia… This experience allows them to compare and contrast your options here with the confidence of boots-on-the-ground experience.

Sophia Titley

Sophia Titley

You’ll also hear from our Editorial Director, Sophia Titley, a Canadian citizen born overseas. Sophia has lived everywhere from Saudi Arabia to Colombia, Spain to Indonesia. She currently calls the U.K. home but is often traveling in Asia where her family lives.

Sophia is also the Editor of Overseas Living Letter, and can give you perspective on the upsides and downsides of each place we’ll suggest to you during the event.

To elucidate the complicated subject of seeking residency in Asia, we’ve invited

Thu Ti Anh Nguyen

Thu Ti Anh Nguyen

Thu is an attorney who focuses on immigration in addition to her other fields of law practice. She has worked in law for more than a decade and was previously a contract analyst for Schlumberger, the world’s largest oilfield services company.

Throughout her legal career, Thu has maintained a strong commitment to serving her diverse client base, from individuals to institutions to multinational corporations across a wide range of industries.

Thu is just one of several of our personally-trusted lawyers that you’ll meet…

And what about property investing in Asia? While real estate investing among foreigners in Asia (usually) cannot include land, you still have plenty of options for investment and profit among the countries we’ll discuss…

Stuart Prentice

Stuart Prentice

Stuart Prentice will join us to discuss the prospect of purchasing real estate in Asia. One of the experts that Live and Invest Overseas has personally used for investments in the region, Stuart is a global investment specialist with over 20 years’ experience in business consultancy, due diligence, and strategic portfolio management.

Graham Bates

You’ll also hear from Graham Bates, president of Insurance Services of America and an expert in international health insurance. Graham has been in the insurance business for 50 years. His firm, Insurance Services of America (ISA), has specialized in international health insurance since 1995 and has won first-place rewards for every company he has represented since that time.

Graham Bates

Last year, ISA helped insure over 60,000 people either traveling in or outside the United States or moving overseas.

Who else will you meet at our Live and Invest in Asia Virtual Conference?

Others just like you who’ve already made the move: Expats already living, investing, or doing business in this country.

In fact, these introductions alone are worth the price of admission. They could be the most important benefit of the entire event.

These people have no agenda… They’ve agreed to participate in the event for no reason other than they’d like to help out fellow expats considering following in their footsteps. They receive nothing in return… have no ties to anyone (including me or Live and Invest Overseas)… and are hindered by no conflict of interest.

Our only request of them is that they tell it like it is. What you hear from these expats won’t be all good. Maybe it won’t even be mostly good. But it will be the real deal.

No place is perfect, and we understand that a rose-colored view does you no favors… There’s a reason these folks are in Asia. They’re fans, but they’re not fools.

Busy street in Asia
No place is perfect—you’ll learn the good and the bad (warts and all!)

They know the good, the bad, the beautiful, and the ugly of day-to-day life and of trying to do day-to-day business in this place. They’re enjoying the advantages… and they know how to manage the downsides.

An important part of our agenda during this event is to show you these downsides… so you can decide whether you can live with them, too. To this end, no Live and Invest event would be complete without expats to share their candid perspectives on life in their new home.

Esther Milanzi

Esther Milanzi, an American expat in Asia, will join us to share her story and her insights. Esther grew up in North Carolina and is a career educator. She has lived and taught in Florida, New York, South Africa, Thailand, Vietnam, and Bali, Indonesia, with her husband, who is also from North Carolina (and whom she met on a beach in Thailand).

Living in Asia, Esther has been able to take some time away from education to focus on writing her first novel. She is also developing two businesses as an education consultant and a writing coach.

Esther Milanzi

Esther offers you an honest, agenda-free look at several of our top havens in Southeast Asia.

As a bonus, she can give you insights on starting a business both online and locally overseas…

And that’s just a start… you’ll hear from more than 13 more experts, expats, and retirees…

This event truly is a one-of-a-kind experience… And we guarantee it’ll save you time, hassle, and money down the road…

If you think Asia might be your future overseas home, I urge you to put your name on the list today, as this is just about the last chance you’ll have to sign up for this event.

Go here now to join us for next week’s event.
